Michigan Avenue Corridor
The Michigan Avenue and Grand River Avenue Corridor stretches from the Michigan State Capitol Building on the west, through Lansing's East Side, East Lansing and Michigan State University, and on to the Meridian Mall in Okemos. Currently served by CATA's #1 bus route making it simple to travel anywhere along the corridor, soon the Bus Rapid Transit will replace the #1 route with a significantly faster service. Stations will be set up to allow passengers to pay before entering the bus, people using wheelchairs will be able to roll right on the bus with little delay or trouble, and traffic lights will be coordinated to make the route move as fast as possible.
